What does it mean to work at camp?
Attend staff training
Working at Camp Monroe is more than just a summer job — it’s a calling.
It means you are choosing to invest in the lives of children. You are stepping into a role where your words matter, your actions matter, and your attitude matters every single day. Campers will look up to you, learn from you, and remember you long after the summer ends.
It means long days filled with laughter, energy, problem-solving, teamwork, and moments that stretch you. Camp is hard work — but it is meaningful work. You won’t just clock in and clock out. You will lead games, dry tears, pray with campers, encourage homesick kids, solve conflicts, and create memories that last a lifetime.
It means living out your faith boldly and authentically. At Camp Monroe, we don’t just talk about Christ — we model Him. Through patience, integrity, kindness, and leadership, you become a living example of what it means to follow Jesus.
It means being part of a team. Camp is not about being “in charge” — it’s about serving together. We support each other, hold each other accountable, and work hard to create a safe, joy-filled environment.
Most of all, it means growth. You will leave camp stronger, more confident, and more equipped for whatever comes next. Many staff say camp changes their life — not just because of what they give, but because of what they receive.
Working at Camp Monroe means choosing purpose over comfort, service over spotlight, and impact over ease.
And it just might be the best summer of your life.
